But, the return to my family and friends during Thanksgiving reminded me of how important "unmaterial things" are. Time spent with close people gave me tremendously relaxing feeling, which I can’t obtain by shopping, of course. I felt warm feeling from my husband and friends. My heart, which had been stressed from my new life surrounded by new people, was healed.
Material things may give me “for-a-moment” satisfaction, but such satisfaction will vanish immediately and never heal my heart. On the other hand, the feeling of sharing something good with close people gives me true satisfaction. Such satisfaction will last for a long time, and I think, give me strength.
When my Thanksgiving break was over, I thought I would throw away my material desire because such desire does not give me any true satisfaction or happiness.
